Help Joel be laid to rest, he didn't deserve this
Donation protected
Hello and good day to you all!
I am attempting to raise funds to lay my first nephew, Joel Cobbs to rest. His life was taken in a senseless act of gun violence on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 in broad daylight in Jamaica, Queens, NY. Gun violence has plagued communities throughout NYC, I read it all the time but never in a million years could I have been prepared for that call and/or to bury my nephew at 23 years young. He was found with no identification, which delayed the family notification and we desire to deliver him to his resting place on October 30, 2021.
My family & I are still seeking answers, the detectives are still investigating but our hearts are truly broken and he must be laid to rest. My sister, his mother Sharon is distraught and still trying to process all this. Life was just beginning for Joel, he was just beginning to scratch the surface on fulfilling his dreams of owning a construction company, which he adopted that skill from his father. He was looking forward to living out his purpose until his life was cut short by gun violence. Joel had a natural caregiving heart, he helped his ailing father through cancer treatments until he passed four years ago and willfully offered his natural caregiving abilities towards helping his 94 year old grandmother up until his very last day on God's green earth.
We're attempting to fulfill the deadline of October 28, 2021 to satisfy the funeral home bill in the amount of $8,000. My family and I would like to take a moment to thank you in advance from the bottom of our hearts for any donation that you are able to contribute towards his final expenses.
Warmest Regards,
