Aid Joe Wayne's Path to Full Recovery
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Elizabeth and I'm trying to help my brother Joe.
On Wednesday, March 19, Joe Wayne was admitted into the Livingston hospital with an acute attack of diverticulitis that ruptured, requiring a colon resection where they removed 13” of his intestines. His white blood cell count kept increasing, and we were worried for his care and had him transferred by ambulance to the Billings Clinic. After multiple CT scans, he was diagnosed with a paralytic obstruction, which can be a complication of this type of surgery. He was in the hospital for another week. Joe is at home resting and healing after two weeks in the hospital, and in 4 to 6 months, Joe will have another surgery to reverse the colostomy. As many of you know, major surgery like this takes many weeks to recover from, with restrictions from lifting and doing certain things that are required for him to do his job. His wife Cindy had also had to take unpaid time off to take care of him as well. Not to mention two major surgeries within a six-month span. We would appreciate anything you would be willing to donate.
