Help Joe Through Brain Surgery and Recovery

Hello, my name is Julia Grochowski; the last couple of months have been very challenging for my family. My Dad Joe Grochowski is a plumber, he went to Texas himself in March 2021 to help with the ice storm. In August, something medically happened to our Dad and my Mom decided it was best for him to come home to PA. Unable to locate him for four days, my Mom got on a plane to bring him home. It has been very emotional and exhausting ever since.

 

We knew he was not the same person. Being dismissed for several months by his doctor, advising the only solution was placing traumatizing 302 holds on him. My Mom never gave up fighting for him! Finally, he got a CAT scan and MRI that showed the reason my Dad has been acting so strange. The results showed he had a stroke and has a brain tumor growing in the right frontal lobe. It has been affecting his ability to work, his behavior, personality and awareness of the tumor, making him very uncooperative for any testing/treatment.

 

He is scheduled for surgery soon, and we will not know of any deficits or his prognosis until the tumor is removed.

 

My parents are high school sweethearts, in a sense she lost her best friend. He believes she is “out to get him, " which has emotionally exhausted her! My Mom is a very strong person, she never asks for help. We are watching her struggle to pay the bills and hold this family together. My younger brother and I hope to raise money to help with medical and household expenses. Please keep our family in your prayers.
