Help Joe stay in his pad and avoid eviction

Welp, I could use your help... (I know, right?)

 

Somewhere coming out of covid times I lost society's plot. Long story short, I'm skint and would love to remain in my rent-controlled apartment of twenty years. Your support may keep me safe from eviction. After all, that's where cool pics like these are born. 

 

Now, I will admit I have done a not-so-good job of reinventing myself following almost two decades working at a single dot com. (Good ol' ARTISTdirect). I was never keen to the side hustle concept, and the gig economy passed me by, probably because I remain carless. Yes, in Los Angeles I walk and I take public transit, and I have done so for over twenty years. I'm frugal like that.

 

Walking makes an Angeleno deal with what's happening on the streets, sidewalks, and doorways—you can't just speed past when on foot—and I see daily the grave impact of homelessness as I walk past dozens of the unlucky every day. I hope to not become one of them, but it is possible. Very possible. Very soon.

 

The pandemic shut down was tough on many of you as you likely had to deal with family all the time! My isolation as a loner was only compounded by covid-life, and it further pushed me away from society. I lost the plot. I made a few untimely mistakes such as missing a crucial deadline. As society decided to reengage the world, I took the safer and slower route, but it's as if I emerged from my cocoon months after everyone else.

 

If you think this appeal is wrong, or uncouth, I understand. No worries. But know my stomach is in knots just putting these words down. I know many others who have it worse, but I've got a mess on my hands and I need help to get back on track.

 

Yep, I said it: I need help. If I could do it alone, and if you know me, you know I would and we'd never speak of it again. I wish thoughts and prayers were enough, but too much of this world runs on money. I require funds to clean up back rent and give me a little runway ahead as fresh job opportunities appear. It's a hole, and one which I hope to be able to crawl out of with your help.
