Help Joe Save His Home and Family

My name is Joe Hamburg, and like many others in the software industry who have been laid off, I have been without employment for more than half a year now.

Unemployment has expired, my severance and savings are gone, and I have no income to speak of. My parents are both deceased, and I have no other close family in Georgia, where I have lived for the last 34 years. Seven final interviews have netted no offers, and the constant litany of applications has netted few interviews in what is easily the worst industry turn in my entire experience. I have repeatedly been told that I am overqualified for lesser roles, in and out of the software industry, and yet I have been passed over for any roles equivalent to my experience for which I have had the luck to secure interviews.

I can no longer pay the monthly bills to keep my family safe and secure, and soon food will even be in doubt. I am creating this GoFundMe as a last-ditch effort to avoid homelessness and hunger for my 16-year-old son and his mother, rehoming our three dogs and two cats, and losing everything we have built together over the last 18 years. I have no pride anymore, and humbly ask for your help. Whatever you can give to help me stretch a little more time to find paying work, I will greatly appreciate; I will not give up, on them or myself, but that spirit will not feed them or keep them warm and housed during the bitter cold of this winter season.
