I am preparing for an operation on my leg, and at 77 years old, I am facing some real challenges with mobility and finances. My fixed income barely covers my bills, and I simply don’t have the money to make the changes I need in my home. Right now, I need help converting my tub to a shower and installing a wheelchair ramp outside. These changes are essential for my safety and independence as I recover from surgery.

Getting in and out of the tub has become dangerous for me—I can no longer do it without risking a fall. Climbing steps is also very difficult, and without a ramp, I worry about how I’ll manage after my operation. Having a shower and a ramp would make my home much safer and allow me to stay independent, which is so important to me at this stage of life.
