Yesterday, my husband Joseph was in a serious accident. Thankfully, he’s okay — but he suffered several injuries including a broken leg, multiple broken ribs, and painful road rash.

If you know Joe, you know he’s that guy — the one who shows up to help anyone, anytime, without being asked twice. He’s the first to lend a hand, fix something that’s broken, or simply be there when someone needs him. Now, it’s Joe who needs a little help.

We’re still unsure what recovery will look like, but we do know it’ll be a long road. Right now, it’s looking like a decent length hospital stay, followed immediately by a stay at a rehabilitation center before he’s able to come home. Joe will be out of work for a while and will need extensive physical therapy as he heals. On top of that, all medical bills are going through his high-deductible insurance, leaving us with significant out-of-pocket expenses.
