Help Joe Pay for Surgeries and Home Renovation
Donation protected
My youngest brother and I have created this GoFundMe to try to help ease some of the financial stress our brother Joe will endure in the future.
Joe’s life long passion for riding motorcycles began at 6 years old on a dirt bike in the back yard. Years later at the age of 16, he got his motorcycle license and started to ride street bikes on the road. Joe would go on to become a very skilled rider taking his love for the bike to the race track .
This passion was abruptly taken from him on December 3rd when a driver pulled out in front of him causing a devastating accident. Joe was left with an incomplete spinal chord injury rendering him paralyzed.
On his first night in the ICU he underwent back surgery. Days later, another surgery took place on one of his hands that endured many broken bones as well as nerve damage . The hospital bill totaled $340,000.
At the young age of 24 his independence in this world has been taken from him.
Our mother, Kim, will have the lower half of her home renovated for accessibility. This includes a full remodeling of the bathroom, as well as wheelchair accessible entry and living quarters. This tragedy has come not only with the emotional and physical toll, but also a financial burden that will continue to grow as Joe begins adjusting and navigating his new lifestyle as a paralyzed man.
Currently, he is recovering in a rehabilitation center, and will remain there until early February, where he will then move into our mom's house.
Any donations received will go directly towards all of Joe's hospital bills, and to help our mom with the necessary housing renovations.
