Hello. My name is Taylor Proctor. I am the daughter of Joe Proctor. My father was recently in a car accident on July 2, 2021. For anyone who knows my dad, knows that he is the safest driver you would ever meet. 1 million safe miles driven for Wal-Mart in just 10 years. Unfortunately, a driver ran through a stop sign and caused a three car collision where my father was crushed into his truck. My dad being my dad, wanted to get out of his truck and help the other victims of the accident, unfortunately he was trapped inside unable to get out. The dash of his truck crushed his legs down underneath. Emergency crews had to pry him out of the vehicle to check for any other injuries.
Joe is luckily only suffering from cuts, bruises, and a broken leg. He will be going in for a surgery on his leg tomorrow morning. This is minimal considering the damage of his truck. He is in high spirits but this will keep him from work for at least a few weeks. This will be so hard for him as he never stops working. When he isn’t at work, he’s at the barn or garage working and taking care of things.
My dad is the hardest working man I’ve ever met. So many others would gladly agree and probably even say so many more words than I am able to form. As I am currently sitting in the ER awaiting news, I am writing this to inform anyone and everyone of what a hard worker my dad is and how much he cares for and supports our family.
His truck that he has had and loved for 11 years is completely demolished. This truck was his way back and forth from work. If you didn’t catch it before, he drives tractor trailer for a living so not being able to use his leg for a while could take a toll on his mental health.
He has so many things to worry about right now and money is one of his number one worries. Getting medical bills paid off and a new truck is one thing he has been worrying about since I talked to him an hour ago. He keeps on replaying the incident in his head trying to figure out ways he could have avoided it and how all of these worries could be non existent. Well, we are here now, trying to figure out all of these expenses. We are not ones to go out looking for help but this is our greatest time of need. Every little bit helps my family. We appreciate and love you all.
