Help Joe Oder with medical costs

Donation protected
Wednesday morning Joe was the victim of a horrific hit-and-run crash while riding his bicycle. Joe is an avid bicyclist and is alive because he always wears a helmet! He was hit head on by a driver who left the scene, leaving Joe lying in the street with injuries. Joe is currently at Barnes Hospital with broken vertebrae in his neck, cracked ribs and a small puncture in his lung. He has had numerous tests and will likely have more. In addition, his recovery is likely to be long with lots of therapy. Joe is a server who is currently out of work due to the COVID-19 stay-at-home order. At this time, we are asking for help with costs estimated at $10,000 but that amount will almost certainly rise. Please consider giving any amount that you're able. To clarify,  I have known Joe since we were in 9th grade in Springfield, IL. From the apartment on Spring Street to Thai food to lending him our spare room for a bit when he moved to St. Louis, I have remained friends with Joe and Phyllis despite my moving out of state. I believe Joe would do anything he could to help his friends so I wanted him to not have to worry about the medical bills and concentrate of getting well! Thanks to all who have been so generous and please keep sharing for Joe.   https://www.riverfronttimes.com/newsblog/2020/04/22/shocking-video-shows-driver-mowing-down-bicyclist-in-st-louis-hit-and-run
