UPDATE::
Joe had two brain surgeries after being admitted to the hospital where Doctors were able to take a biopsy and remove 90% of what was visible of the tumor. Unfortunately the biopsy came back and confirmed a Glioblastoma, grade 4 brain cancer. Joe went through the standard of care chemo and radiation and continued monthly chemo but it has not shown to slow the growth. His tumor is back to larger than its original size. We have ceased all treatment. Joe fought for our country and in turn payed a tough price. Being over seas meant he was around burn pits and doctors say that could have been the cause but we cannot know. There are so many questions Joe and loved ones want answers to that will never be answered. Right now we are just enjoying our time together and thanking God everyday for the blessings we have. Anything you can give to support Joe and his family is appreciated. Thank you for the kindness and thoughts.
We humbly ask for any help, support and prayers. On Wednesday morning, June 5th, Joseph Macadam was taken by ambulance to Parma Community Hospital. He had been suffering from a litany of debilitating symptoms for several days which finally prompted him to request his fiance Amber to call the squad. He was given a CT scan in the ER which revealed a mass on the left side of his brain. He was transported to UH of Cleveland where further scans and an MRI confirmed the findings. He will be undergoing surgery Tuesday June 11th for removal of the tumor. If you know Joe at all, you"ll know that he is an incredibly strong, dedicated, determined and stubborn young man, his outcome will benefit from these character traits. But he is also a very kind, generous, and super funny guy with an infectious laugh and smile. Those characteristics are what has driven him into those special places in all our lives. He has an incredible support system of family and friends, the numbers are great. There will be some time for recovery before he will be able to get back to the jobs he loves, setting tile, studying crypto, being an amazing dad and loving counterpart to Amber. Please help us support Joe and his family during this time of extenuating circumstances.
