As he neared retirement as a professional musician and dedicated guitar instructor at Fullerton College, Dr. Joseph Jewell was stricken with Acute Heart Failure and then unexpectedly was found to have a silent but malignant Renal Cancer. He is presently going through treatment in medical rehabilitation with the hopes of qualifying for potentially curable surgery and chemotherapy. Plans have been made to pack up and move Joe's belongings into storage, as we expect that Joe's current stay in a rehabilitation facility will be followed by a prolonged stay in an out-of-pocket, very expensive board and care facility until he can qualify for surgery and chemotherapy. Joe is working hard to lose weight to meet those qualifications. Complicating his status is his recent diagnosis with MRSA, for which he is quarantined and is receiving antibiotics.
Thanks to the encouragement of so many friends and family, Joe is committed to doing what it takes to get well again. One challenge is the scale of expenses that he faces in the coming months.
Would you please consider a donation to help Joe at this critical stage in his life?
