Help Joe Heal and Recover at Home

*Update!: Reversal surgery went great and he’s on the mend! Still praying for a speedy recovery to get back to normal daily life soon! Thankyou everyone for shares, prayers and donations!
Hello, my name is Maya Mozden. This past October, my father, Joe, was diagnosed with colon cancer. Everyone who knows him knows he’s a loving husband, father of five, and a grandfather to ten. He’s a family man who loves warm summer days floating down the Muskegon River, gardening, campfires, the Bible, their three rescue cats—Neo, Maggie, and Biscuits—and, of course, the Detroit Lions.
In early December, he had an expedited surgery to remove the cancer, but he also had to undergo a temporary procedure to allow things to heal. While planning for a reversal in three months, he was able to return home. Unfortunately, he has since been back and forth to the ER. He ended up with a life-threatening obstruction due to dehydration. Before everything, he was 6 foot 1 and 145 lbs, and in just three weeks, he lost 46 lbs. He endured 21 days without eating, and doctors said he was in the first stage of starvation. Thankfully, through IVs, a PICC line for nutrition, his strength, and his faith, he has been back home for about a week, regaining weight and feeling very grateful to be alive.
He and his wife recently purchased a new home, and while they both have jobs, he will have to take significant time off to recover. While his strength continues to inspire us, the financial burden has become overwhelming. Even with insurance, the costs continue to grow with his upcoming reversal surgery, medications, and necessary care. This has weighed heavily on his heart and mind. We are asking for help to ease this burden so our focus can remain where it belongs—on his health, comfort, and recovery. Any contribution, no matter the size, will go directly toward medical expenses and essential care. No donation is too small. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser and keeping our family in your thoughts and prayers means more than we can express.
We sincerely appreciate, from the bottom of our hearts, your kindness, generosity, and support during this challenging chapter.
Also, if anyone would like to send him something, he has P.O. Box #5 in Howard City 49329.
Thank you!
