Dear Family, Friends and Kind Strangers. My name is Kim Johnson. Kathy Priest and I are writing on behalf of our friend Joe Grable. Most of you know Joe as a wise-cracking all-around fun guy or you have a professional relationship where you know Joe as a hard-working and reliable professional. In many cases both. Joe has recently been diagnosed with kidney cancer and is facing a long recovery from surgery which will occur on Oct 4. He has been out of work since August battling a misdiagnosis at first, but now knows a large tumor is wrapped around his kidney. The surgery will remove both the tumor and the kidney with high hopes this will be the only treatment needed.

 

Joe is expected to be out of work until the end of the year. We are asking for donations on his behalf to help him cover his medical bills and lost income during that time. I know that all of us have experienced a setback in our lives where we needed the support of our entire community of friends, co-workers and family. This is Joe’s time. He needs us now!

10/9 update. Joe is finally home again after a grueling week in the hospital.  But it is all good news!  So far no evidence of spread and the surgeon believe all the cancer was removed.  Now Joe has the task of recovering and ensuring his remaining kidney is work as planned.  Thanks to all who have donated so far!
