Help Joe get through a touph time

It feels like a long-distance race. Joe is up for the fight.
For the last year Joe has struggled through a myriad of symptoms and complicated physical conflicts. About four months ago, Joe was diagnosed with a condition known as Amyloidosis. It is a condition that causes renal failure and leads to kidney transplant at best if treatment is not successful.
Amyloidosis is a condition rarely found in the United States. There are only approximately 4000 cases diagnosed a year.
The current treatment is a series of infusions of a chemical used to treat Juvenile Arthritis. It is experimental. There is no guarantee of it working. We will know in three to four months. Whether or not it is going to affect. The long-term health of his kidneys. The principal key to recovery seems to be maintaining an environment of quiet and minimal stress. We are working hard to maintain that positive environment for healing.
Your support in the early stages of this situation has been critical in helping to minimize stress and maintain a restful environment. The positive elements have been the effect of cardiac surgery a couple of months ago and the beginning of these infusions.
The next steps are equally as critical as the early period of diagnosis and establishing a plan for treatment. This fight is not over, and he is up and ready for it. We are asking for your financial support to meet the goal of the challenge and provide Joe with the rest and peace of mind that can allow his recovery and positive prognosis.
Thank you to everyone who has offered their love, support, and encouragement. Help us move to a successful healthy conclusion of this challenge!
UPDATE (January 1, 2024)
Gearing up for the next step
After a couple of months now the medical professionals are taking one more step toward stabilizing my cardiac health. On the 17th of this month (The day before my Birthday) I will undergo a procedure (Atrial Septum Defect Closure) that should help to improve the function of my heart. It is unusual for someone of my age to deal with this issue as it is usually discovered and addressed with infants. It is essentially a hope between the two upper chambers of my heart. For now, I am gearing up for the procedure and continuing to struggle through battles of intense and debilitating fatigue. Once the procedure is complete the physicians anticipate that my energy levels will correct themselves. Later this week, they will take a closer look at the issues related to diminished Kidney function in hopes of avoiding further damage and the need for dialysis. I am optimistic and eager to have these issues addressed. I cannot begin to express my appreciation for the support you have given me at this rough time. I will let you know how things develop. I remain optimistic and deeply grateful for the support you all have expressed for me at this time as always. Thank you again for your encouragement and support!!!
UPDATE and thank you!!! ( December 15, 2023)
After my long hospitalization and multiple visits in the last few weeks, they are getting closer to figuring out exactly what is happening with my internal organs. They are developing a path for treatment and resolution to the multiple issues that were so daunting a few weeks ago. As they work on narrowing things down, I am still plagued with chronic exhaustion and fluid retention. Answers cannot come soon enough.
Your support and well wishes have been a source of great comfort and encouragement as well as peace of mind. THANK YOU!
I know I still have a long way to go, until I am back up and running or at least walking without exhaustion. I am encouraged and do rely on your well wishes going forward. Onward and Upward.
UPDATE AND REQUEST FOR SUPPORT
Thank you all so much for your support and help with the request for help at this time. As an update: Joe will enter the hospital tomorrow to address new complications surrounding the primary issues he is confronting. The doctors are working hard to stabilize his health and prevent more invasive treatment. We are still hoping to reach our initial goal of 10000. Any help you can provide is deeply appreciated at this time. If you have any questions, please feel free to email or call Jim. It is a rough time but your support has mattered more than you know!!
Joe has managed to keep everything up to date, but the next two months are expected to be particularly challenging as he will be in and out of the hospital for four cardiac procedures. This unpredictable medical journey has created a moment of need for Joe, and he is seeking assistance both financially and in the form of positive thoughts and energy.
For those who know Joe, you are aware of his active role in helping friends, family, and sometimes even strangers whenever assistance was required. His friendly demeanor and willingness to lend a helping hand have made a positive impact on many lives.
To support Joe during this challenging time, we have set up this GoFundMe page where you can contribute financially and leave messages of support. The funds raised will help cover medical expenses and any unforeseen costs associated with his upcoming treatments.
We will use this online platform to keep you updated on Joe's health and progress. Your contributions and well-wishes will mean the world to him during this difficult period.
Your kindness and consideration are greatly appreciated.
Let's come together to show Joe the same support and care he has extended to others throughout the years. Your generosity will make a significant difference in his journey towards better health.
Thank you for keeping Joe in your thoughts and for your willingness to assist during this time of need.
