Joe Rattray is a devoted husband to Raquel, a loving father and grandfather. He’s the kind of person who shows up for others without asking for anything in return. For years Joe has been a pillar of our community, organising the St Helens Athletic Carnival, Pyengana Cricket Club, Pyengana Easter Carnival and wood chopping carnivals.
The problem.
Recently Joe’s knee has deteriorated to the point where everyday tasks and the community work he loves are becoming increasingly painful and difficult. His loving wife Raquel is working two jobs to make ends meet while he's unable to work.
Without surgery the condition will only get worse and could permanently limit his mobility and ability to volunteer.
Why do we need your help?
Medical costs, surgery fees, specialist consultations, and rehabilitation add up quickly. Joe wants to get the surgery before the damage becomes irreversible, but the out of pocket expenses, lengthy wait time and recovery time are a heavy burden for the family.
What Joe means to the community
Joe has organised countless events that bring people together, and given his time freely to make the Pyengana/St Helens a better place. Helping Joe is an investment in the wellbeing of our whole community.
How will your donation help?
Funds will go directly to cover surgery costs, hospital and anaesthesia fees, pre and post op consultations, physiotherapy, mobility aids during recovery, and any short term household support Joe and Raquel may need while he recovers.
Closing appeal,
Please donate what you can and share this campaign with friends, family, and local groups. Every contribution, big or small, brings Joe one step closer to recovery and back to the community he loves to serve. Thank you for supporting Joe and his family
