Help Joe buy a used car

Hi all. I'm Leslie (My picture is on the GoFundMe post). I'm friends with a low income 85-year-old mother and her special needs son, Joe, who live in a little old house in Maynard, Mass.. The son is high functioning enough to drive, but lower functioning in other ways. He has a one-day-a-week job bagging groceries at Roche Bros. Well, the car that he had to drive himself to and from work and take his mom to medical appointments died. The garage said it's not worth fixing. Joe doesn't have enough money to buy another car. He's in a real predicament. Without a car he can't get to work or get his mom to medical appointments. The garage has a 2006 Toyota Corolla with 130,000 miles on it that it's fixing up and offering to Joe for $4,500 or $5,000. But even that much is too much for Joe. So I'm trying to raise $5,000 for him

My heart goes out to this vulnerable mother and son who are barely able to afford a roof over their head, and I'm so afraid things will get so bad financially that they won't be able to afford to keep their house anymore.
