Please Pray for Joe & Consider Helping Our Family
Hi, my name is Alicia, and I’m reaching out during one of the hardest moments our family has ever faced.
Early Thursday morning, January 22nd at around 1:00 a.m., my husband Joe woke me up saying something was wrong. He was leaning forward, holding his chest, saying he felt pressure and pain. He also had pain and tingling down his left arm. I immediately called 911.
Joe was rushed to the hospital, where we were told he was having a heart attack. A heart catheterization revealed two major blockages. The doctor did not feel comfortable placing stents and recommended a double bypass surgery. Joe was transferred to another hospital, where he will be undergoing open-heart surgery.
We are asking first and foremost for prayers for Joe—for a successful surgery, smooth recovery, and strength during this scary time.
We are also asking, humbly, for help.
Joe is the sole provider for our household. He supports me, himself, and our two grandchildren. Unfortunately, I am unable to work due to severe arthritis in my back, knees, hips, and hands, along with scoliosis. I was told years ago that I needed knee replacement surgery, and my condition has continued to worsen. I have applied for disability twice and have been denied.
Because of the bypass surgery, Joe will be out of work for at least 6–8 weeks and will not be able to drive for 8 weeks. He has also been newly diagnosed with diabetes and will need cardiac rehabilitation twice a week, along with many new medications and ongoing specialist care.
As you can imagine, the medical bills, co-pays, prescriptions, gas for travel to and from the hospital and rehab, and basic necessities like food are already overwhelming—on top of losing our only source of income.
If you are able to donate, any amount would mean more than we can express. If you’re not able to donate, please consider sharing this and keeping Joe in your prayers. Every prayer, share, and kind thought truly matters to us.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for reading, praying, and supporting our family during this incredibly difficult time.
With gratitude,
Alicia & Family
