Jodi, my bonus mom, has always been a source of strength, compassion, and love in our lives. As a nurse, she has spent her entire career caring for others—always going above and beyond to make a difference in her community. She is a devoted wife to Dan of 23 years and a loving mother to three children: Kylee (22), Daniel (21, currently stationed in Hawaii with the military), and Taylor (30).

Jodi’s faith is at the center of who she is. As a devoted follower of Christ, she lives with grace, kindness, and unwavering strength. Her faith has guided her through life and continues to be a source of comfort as she faces this difficult journey.

About a month ago, our family received devastating news—Jodi was diagnosed with glioblastoma multiforme (GBM), an aggressive form of brain cancer. This diagnosis came as a complete shock. At just 52 years old, she is otherwise healthy and full of life. Since then, our world has been turned upside down as we do everything we can to support her.

Right now, our greatest wish is to take a trip as a family so we can be together and visit Daniel, who is stationed in Hawaii with the military. Being able to have that time together means everything, as it is Jodi’s biggest wish—and I want to do everything in my power to make that happen for her. We also hope to fulfill Kylee’s dream of going on a cruise with her mom and create special memories together.
