Help Jodi Win Her Fight Against Stage 4 Cancer
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
I never imagined I'd be writing this, but here we are - fighting for the life of our incredible sister, Jodi Freeman.
In June 2024 Jodi was diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer, with metastases to her liver and abdominal cavity. What started as a stomach ache turned into a life-altering battle - over the past nine months she’s endured two surgeries, targeted treatments and 20 rounds of chemotherapy (and counting). Thanks to extensive research into treatment options globally and her latest chemotherapy regimen now keeping her stable, for the first time we have a real shot at a cure. A specialized dual surgery in the U.S., which is unavailable in Canada, could give Jodi the second chance she deserves.
Jodi isn’t just an incredible sister. She’s a devoted wife to Jordan, a loving mom to their 5-year-old son Bennett, and the kind of person who makes the world brighter just by being in it. If you know her, you know she’s strong, charismatic and always there to encourage and uplift others. And she’s way too stubborn to let cancer win. Now, it’s our turn to fight for her!
The Cost & How You Can Help
Many people have already asked how they can help. The life-saving surgery Jodi needs in the U.S. costs $80,000 USD ($115,000 CAD), and while her medical team has done everything possible to reduce expenses, this is still an overwhelming financial burden for her young family.
Her surgery - a complex CRS-HIPEC (cytoreductive surgery and hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy) procedure combined with liver resection - is set to take place in Danbury, Connecticut in May. This is her best shot at waking up with no evidence of disease. Because she’s young and otherwise healthy, her medical team is optimistic that this “mother of all surgeries” will give her the best chance for a cancer-free future.
Every donation, every share, and every kind word will bring her closer to the future she deserves. All funds raised will go directly toward her surgery and travel expenses, and help the Miller family focus all of their time and energy on recovery when Jodi returns home.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your generosity and support.
With love and gratitude,
Jill & Scott (Jodi’s sister & brother)
