Hello, My Name is Dylan and I am putting together this Go Fund Me for my Mother, Jodi Hemmesch. As some of you may know, on June 30th, 2021 she was diagnosed with Stage 3, Triple Negative Breast Cancer. Triple Negative Breast Cancer means that this type of cancer is non-hormonal, therefore the chemotherapy process is different than that of a "typical" breast cancer. This news is beyond devastating for not only herself, but everyone immediately around her. If you know my Mom, you know that she didn't stay down about it for too long. My Mom, Jodi, is the Strongest, Most Independent person I know! She raised me & my brother Dustin, for many years on her own, all while working 2 and even 3 jobs at times. She has worked hard her whole life, from an early age taking care of her mother, all the way through the pandemic closures. Growing up, there was never a Christmas we didn't celebrate, or a Birthday that was missed. There was never a ball game she didn't attend, and there was always a meal on the table. She is an even better Grandmother to her Grandson, and 2 Granddaughters that she adores. She to date, requests the grandkids, even while going through chemotherapy treatments. This woman is down right AMAZING!!! She not only loves her family, but everyone around her, including all of her friends she has built throughout her life. She is so Personable and can have a conversation with anyone, anytime, anywhere. She in fact, does this very often. She is the type of person that will help out ANYONE & ANYTHING, even if she doesn't have the means to do so herself. Unfortunately, at the time the cancer was discovered, My Mom did not have valid health insurance. She has since found an insurance company but the medical bills from the start of this journey are all "out of pocket" cost, while insurance bills are now 60/40. Immediately from the time the cancer was discovered, there have been multiple hospital visits. She has begun the chemotherapy process, which will occur over the next 6 months, when she will then undergo surgery and radiation. It will be quite the journey, but it is one that she is ready to defeat! Her plan from the start of this, was to continue to work through the chemotherapy & radiation process, and as much as possible around the surgery. Unfortunately, due to the chip shortages in the automobile industry, she was recently laid off. But in typical Jodi fashion, her spirits remain high. The grim reality is that between medical bills, rent & food, the savings are being depleted faster than we had hoped. My Mom being as Independent as she is, would never ask anybody for anything, so I am doing that part for her. We as a family are asking for your help? We have set a goal of approx. $10,000 to help pay for some of her Medical Bills & Rent! This is a small portion of what this process ultimately will cost us as a family!! All donation funds will be used accordingly, and ANYTHING is APPRECIATED!! We are truly grateful for any donation that is received!!! It is going to be a battle, but it's a battle we are confident our Mom can Win!!!
