Help Jodi and Her Kids Rebuild After Their Home Flooded
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
I’m reaching out on behalf of my sister-in-law, Jodi Levart (née Mack), and her two children, who are currently going through a tough time. Their home in Clarksville, Tennessee was severely flooded after powerful storms hit the area.
Unfortunately, Jodi did not have flood insurance, specifically, nor dream it may be necessary due to that fact that she does not live in an area classified as a flood plain. She has since been told that her current homeowner’s insurance will not cover any of the damages, nor expenses caused by this incident. To make matters worse, the flooding wasn’t solely due to rainfall alone. The City of Clarksville diverted storm water drain off from another area of the city, which, in turn, ended up inundating her neighborhood without warning, affecting Jodi’s home and many others.
Her entire first floor suffered, at a minimum, 3 to 4 feet of water damage, causing significant destruction to essential parts of the home. While the house is not completely destroyed, it is currently unlivable and it is unclear how long it will be before she and the kids can move back in. Although she may be able to eventually recover and salvage some things, others are a complete and total loss.
Right now, they’re staying in temporary housing while trying to clean up and begin the long process of rebuilding.
It is important to note that Jodi is pursuing legal action as part of a class action lawsuit against the city, but as we all know, legal battles can take months, or even years, and there is NO guarantee of success.
We are hoping to raise $20,000 to help cover the immediate and essential expenses:
• Temporary housing
• Food and daily necessities
• Medications
• Cleaning supplies
• Clothing
• Critical home repairs and replacements
Please know that we completely understand that times are tough for many. However, if you are in a position to help, any amount will truly make a difference. On the other hand, if you are not able to donate, simply sharing this post with your network would be a huge help in getting the word out.
Jodi and the kids are strong, resilient, and doing everything they can to move forward, but community support will mean the world to them as they navigate this difficult chapter.
Thank you for taking the time to read, donate, or share. Your support, in any form, is deeply appreciated.
With love and gratitude,
Kelsey Mack
