Help Jocie get back on her feet!

On February 23rd, 2020 Jocie Van Kirk, a 21 year old SRU student, went hiking with some friends at McConnell’s Mill State Park on a nice, sunny afternoon. During this hike, Jocie slipped on some leaves on a rock and tumbled down a 80ft cliff which led her to being life flighted to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. Miraculously, Jocie survived her fall but ended up with fractures in her neck, back, ribs, and pelvis. The doctors treating Jocie said for every 10 feet a person falls, they have a 10% chance of dying and Jocie ended up beating those odds.

With these injuries, Jocie had to take a medical leave from school and is unable to currently work. With the donations from this GoFundMe, this will take some of the financial burden off Jocie and our family. All proceeds from any donations will go towards her hospital bills, her apartment bills, living expenses and her road to recovery.
