The Fundamental Change Foundation, the base, and solution for building a world where every being is thriving; eliminating poverty by shining light on injustice and using money as a tool for love:

This community organization will meet the needs of "the least of these" -  the hungry, the homeless, the sick, the imprisoned, the forgotten, and the neglected - first and foremost; by facilitating mutual aid and communal property management services in order to build a restorative ecosystem based on the Indigenous principles & communal care infrastructures that made me who I am and have saved my life countless times.

Five years ago I sang the solo in the video as a senior in college thinking I was ready to take on the world of wealth management and investing and use finance as a tool for social justice (see cover video of Jochebed performing in pink dress in front of semi-circle of mixed group of peer singers on wood stage with top half white bottom half brown background, black piano on back right of stage).

Three years later on May 30, after leaving the corporate world disillusioned and in despair, J Aduke Consulting was formed to teach investors the basics of the racist inequities in the US economy, how and why they show up and drive profit in portfolios. It wasn't the dream I'd just written down for the first time but it's what I felt was necessary then.

In truth, I've dreamed of serving people suffering exploitation, the way I learned to care for community growing up on missionary compounds and retreats; and building a multi-asset class institutional investment portfolio that would support the same by proving that meeting basic human needs is the most profitable strategy in the world.

I wanted to invest in life - our collective survival and thriving - by allocating capital to close racist socioeconomic & environmental disparities in peoples ability to meet their basic needs, I just wasn't quite sure how to do that yet and knew that there was a whole lot of educating to be done before anyone would consider just giving me money and funding my ideas. So I wrote about "the vital need to center Indigenous culture and communities in advancing social change" on my website and set out to do that through consulting as best I could.

Last May, at low and moment of reflection when I realized that by pursuing the status quo I had been failing to live out my values, I wrote about some of the lessons I'd learned in attempting to prove myself worthy to a world invested in denying my humanity instead of living in the truth of my inherent right to life and letting that be my driving force. Chief among them was that investing in life required making time to heal by prioritizing rest, mental and emotional wellbeing in all things.... but it's taken me a whole year to really learn what that means.

Now that I understand how to invest in life, and for equity, and practiced how to rest, I'm ready to continue this work through an entity that can best live out those values I mentioned: telling the Truth, with Love, in pursuit of Justice; and accomplish my dream, the statement of purpose I drafted for J Aduke Consulting back in 2019:

To ensure that the Earth and its most exploited inhabitants can live free, self-determined, and self-sustaining lives; and to affirm the inherent rights of Black and Indigenous peoples to our lives, land, territories, and resources. 

I'll be sharing more of mine and the Foundation's story in the coming weeks and FINALLY getting back in touch with many of you (and this time I have support! Endless thanks to Kim and Tissanie my team out in Chicago - and to be expanded soon!), but in the meantime, I need your help too!

My "dog days" are finally over, and I'm ready to make my dreams come true by ensuring the same for "the least of these", those facing a crisis of exploitation, health, homelessness, hunger, abuse & state enacted violence that is set to skyrocket to levels this country has never seen soon, if not by the end of this month.
