About me
Hi! My name is Jocelyn, or Jocey (she/her)! I am a Latina non-binary transgender woman who has had the wonderful opportunity to transition with a supportive community around me at Tufts University. This GoFundMe will help me afford my ongoing social and medical transition into the person I see in myself, not yet created but waiting in potential.
I am a sophomore at Tufts University who plans to be a scholar-advocate, so I can support other trans and non-binary folk, especially children and teens, navigate the stigma of the world around them and reimagine what the world can be.
I work as a Resident Assistant and have an accelerated course load to graduate early because I do not have enough finances to afford all four years at Tufts. I am already taking on loans, even though I am graduating a year early, and have run out of college savings.

I live with gender dysphoria, especially about my body hair, and have for as long as I can remember. At the same time, I have experienced gender euphoria that makes it all worth it. Unfortunately, because all of my energy goes into reducing my debt and my schoolwork, I currently depend on my parents to afford my hormonal transition. On top of that, I have had to postpone other parts of my transition, such as my name change and laser hair removal for my body, due to the cost being more than I can afford.
With your donations, I will be able to afford
1. Daily Hormone Replacement Therapy
2. Laser Hair Removal
3. Legal Name Change
4. Voice training
5. Gender Affirming Clothes

And I can do so without having to accrue more debt or be dependent on my parent's finances for my transition. You donating now will also allow me to transition into myself sooner, rather than waiting in a painful limbo simply due to not having the funds.

Racial Justice
I also want to acknowledge my privilege as a white and middle-class trans woman. Unlike many other trans women, especially Black, Brown, and Indigenous trans and non-binary people of color, I have not had to face the intersections of transmisogyny with white Supremacy and racial capitalism. Furthermore, I am fortunate enough to be able-bodied, neurotypical, and a citizen by birth of the United States, when under a system of borders and hyper-productivity, many who are not face additional challenges.
For this reason, if you donate to me, please please please also donate to charities or GoFundMes for trans and non-binary people of color and other queer people who face additional challenges under racial capitalism.
Here are some of the many people who should also donate to if you have the means:

Here are some other organizations that you can and should donate to structured around defending the truth that Black Lives Matter.
Thank you so much for reading this. I hope you can support me in this process, so please share and donate if you can!
