Help Curaçao job seekers to a career in IT!

As Curaçao is dealing with an alarming unemployment rate of 20+% we couldn't stand by and watch. Thus, guided by a love for our precious island and a firm belief in our people we founded IT4Curaçao in 2022. A non profit NGO.

 

At IT4Curaçao we are convinced that the availability of online IT training resources, the broad acceptance & adoption of remote modes of working and the ever-increasing international demand for IT expertise, offer tremendous opportunities for job creation.

But for this next step we will need your help!

 

How will the funds be used?

We have been in contact with the highly-regarded codecademy. An online learning platform aimed at the development job relevant computer coding skills.

The platform is used by learners from companies such as Google, Facebook, Apple, IBM and more.

 

 

The funds will be used to get 5 “seats" with 1-year access to their full course catalog. Which includes comprehensive “career path” tracks for the most in demand IT job skills.

 

Who will benefit?

In the past couple of months we have invested resources to gain insight in the local IT training demand, established a local network of stakeholders and have identified a pool of Curaçao job seekers eager to start their IT skills development journey.

With 5 “seats” over a period of 1 year, we will be able to offer these job seekers free access to the platform and the opportunity to acquire the skills needed to start a career in IT .

Trough the Go Fund Me platform we will provide updates. We will be sharing:

• Transparent financial data on the utilization of the funds

• The overall progress reports on the learning journey of the candidates

• The story of our candidates
