Help Joaquin Bianchi Compete on the ATP Tour
Donation protected
Hi all,
My name is Joaquin Bianchi, I’m 25 years old and I’m originally from Argentina. As many of you may know, my dream has always been to be a professional tennis player on the ATP Tour, but I never had the financial resources to be able to pursue that dream. This is the reason why I have been working as a Tennis Coach to save money and hopefully fund my tennis journey these first years. This past year has been exhausting, working 46 hours a week, practicing 2 hours a day, early gym sessions and finishing my MBA graduate degree, which likely I graduated couple weeks ago. Thus, I’m organizing this GoFundMe to get all the possible help in order to finance my professional career during the next few years.
Regarding my tennis career, I played NCAA D1 college tennis at Troy University and D2 at University of Texas at Tyler, both with full scholarship. At the college level, I’m happy to say I have competed in the highest level and achieved all the goals I set for myself.
Some of these achievements and awards are:
- X2 NCAA All-American in Singles
- Ranked #5 of the Nation in Singles
- Ranked #6 of the Nation in Doubles
- Regional Champion in Singles
- Regional Champion in Doubles
- x3 Conference Champion
- x2 Regular Season Champion
- MVP All Conference
- LSC Player of the Year
- x3 First-Team Singles
- x2 First-Team Doubles
- Elite 8 in NCAA Nationals
- Graduated with Honors and as a Magma Cum Laude
As a Junior, I was always ranked top 30 in Argentina in all the age ranges, from U10 to U18. My highest ranking was in U18 which was #13 in the country.
At the moment, I’m ranked #2089 in the world with only two pro tournaments I played last year. My goal is to be ranked top 800 ATP in 12 months of playing professional full time, and I think I’m totally capable to do so. My long term goal, is to be ranked top 100 ATP so I can play all the Grand Slams and achieve my dream of being a successful Pro Tennis Player. I’ve had these same goals and dreams since I started playing tennis when I was 4 years old.
Unfortunately, I never had the financial resources to play professional tennis, so my only option was coming to the US with a full scholarship to get a degree and keep practicing with the hope that one day I’ll get the money to play pro and actually try to make it in the tour.
I’m planning to play around 35 tournaments next year, which is 35 weeks. Each tournament is 1 week long and they are all around the world. I have some family in Spain so I’m planning on playing around Europe and mainly in Tunisia since it’s a cheap country and there’s tournaments every week of the year in Monastir, Tunisia. Approximately, the expenses will be $50,000 for the full year. These $50,000 include flights, hotel, food, equipment and transportation. Surely it would be much more if I decide to get a Coach to train me and travel with me, but since it is so expensive, that is not part of my plans for now.
During the first 2 years of playing on the tour, I will be competing mostly in Futures in which I will get to improve my ATP ranking till it is high enough to play in Challengers and ATP. Futures prize money is not high and that is why I need to sustain my career for the first two years by myself until I make it to bigger tournaments and prize money is enough to cover the expenses. Furthermore, all the money donated will be solely used for my tennis career purposes during the next two years.
I have also started a social media channel on Instagram “Road to 800 ATP in 14 months” to share my journey to pro tennis, the behind the scenes of what it takes to make it on the ATP tour with no financial support and to attract sponsors! I would appreciate a follow in Instagram to keep growing my platform, at the moment I have 14.5k followers. My instagram is @bianchijoaco
To conclude, I would be extremely thankful for any help that I could get, literally anything helps to get me closer to achieve my dream. I would really appreciate if you can share this with people you know that may be interested in helping me since the more people we reach, the more chances there are to get the necessary funds to finance my career.
