Help Joao Rebuild After ICE Detention

Joao is going through one of the most difficult times of his life. ICE recently detained him, and it completely turned his world upside down. After two weeks in detention, he was released on bail, and he’s now fighting to stay in the country he's called home for more than 10 years — a place where he’s built his life, community, and dreams. Joao has one of the purest hearts I’ve ever known and always tries to do the right thing. He’s actively involved in our church and has often volunteered to help people experiencing homelessness in San Diego and everyone around him. He is a kind person and has always given his time and energy to support others.

Now, he needs support.

Because of this situation, Joao lost his job and the savings he had worked so hard to build. He’s currently struggling to manage the immigration process fees while trying to get back on his feet. Most urgently, he needs to pay for a trusted immigration lawyer who can guide him through this complex legal process and give him a chance to stay in the U.S.
