My dear friend Joannie was diagnosed with breast cancer last year, underwent multiple rounds of chemotherapy and radiation, and was found to be cancer-free a few months ago.

She is, however, still battling the after-effects of cancer treatment. This has necessitated being away from her work as a high school teacher and has left her struggling financially. Without an income, medical bills are piling up rapidly, and debt is mounting. This is adding to her stress during this already difficult journey and interfering with her continued healing.

Despite these hardships, she remains resilient and committed to her recovery and to making a positive impact on her students and community. However, she needs support—not just financially but also emotionally—to help ease her burdens and create a space for healing and renewal.
