Help Joanne's Parents Recover from Laie Flood

Donation protected
Aloha friends and family,

On March 19th 2026, during the recent Kona low storm in Hawai'i, my parents' home in Laie was flooded. Like many in our community, they were impacted by the storm and this has been a difficult and humbling experience for my parents. Despite being 67 and 75 years old, my parents are the hardest working people I know. If you've ever visited their food truck at the Hukilau Marketplace at the Polynesian Cultural Center, you've likely seen them on their feet for long hours cooking, serving, and always greeting with kindness and aloha.

The flooding caused damage to their home and they have lost essential items including furniture and appliances, along with damage to parts of their home. While they do have flood insurance, it comes with a large deductible and unfortunately does not cover personal belongings. Right now, they are doing everything they can to help clean up, recover, and move forward, but the financial burden is still heavy.

We are hoping to raise funds to help alleviate the financial burden on our 'ohana and support them as they rebuild. Any amount, big or small, will make a meaningful difference for our family. Sharing this page and keeping our family in your thoughts and prayers would be greatly appreciated. Mahalo nui loa for your kindness, support and aloha during this time.
