Help Joanne Battle Stage 4 Liver Cancer
Donation protected
In July 2024, Joanne received heartbreaking news: she was diagnosed with stage 4 neuroendocrine liver carcinoma—a rare and aggressive cancer. This came just four years after she had finished treatment for breast cancer. Sadly, there is currently no cure for this aggressive and rare form of cancer—only palliative care options—and her life expectancy given was 10-12 months.
Since her diagnosis, Joanne has bravely undergone 11 rounds of chemotherapy. The tumors responded well, but chemotherapy is no longer effective and has metastasized. Now, there’s a new glimmer of hope: Joanne has been accepted into a clinical trial in Miami. This trial could be her best chance at more time; however, it requires frequent and extended stays in Miami. The first trip was 18 days and will be every two weeks going forward. She requires a caregiver, either me or her daughter Stephanie accompanies her on each appointment. The flights, hotel stays, food, transportation while in Miami and maintaining extra home expenses such as mowing and pet care are overwhelming. Joanne is one of the most selfless people out there. She has spent her life caring for others—both people and animals—and now she needs our support. Every donation will go directly toward covering the costs of travel, accommodations, and other essentials necessary for her to participate in this potentially life-extending trial.
We understand that times are tough for many, and if you’re unable to give financially, your prayers and shares are just as powerful.
Joanne means the world to so many of us. This next chapter of her fight is far from over, and with your help, we believe it can be one of hope and strength.
