Dear friends and family,

Our family came far to close to experiencing a devastating loss this holiday season, that would have resulted in us spending the holidays without our beloved and cherished, Jojo.

Joanna was recently involved in a near fatal accident that left her in critical condition in the ICU at St. Joseph’s Hospital with serious injuries including head trauma but most critical being a puncture of her femoral artery.

She was miss diagnosed in the ER at North Bay Hospital of New Port Richey and was bleeding internally for over 10 hours before recognizing her condition was one of grave danger. She was rushed to St. Joseph's Vascular Institute for emergency surgery.

We were told that her surgery had gone well as she was transferred to MICU for recovery.

While in recovery Joanna suddenly found herself in a much more critical state than she was pre-op as her femoral artery had ruptured due to an aneurysm at the incision site of her first procedure necessitating a second emergency surgery.

After a week in the ICU, she was finally able to return home to recover. Walking, sitting, standing, laying down, sitting up, pretty much any position you can think of, leaves her in complete discomfort resulting in a very frustrating & challenging state. As her first post-op Drs visit approaches a questionable complication is revealed that lead to the scheduling of a 3rd surgery which has since then been postponed.

These back to back surgeries have taken a tremendous toll on Joanna as she now faces a long road to recovery and significant medical expenses. Her job of 6 years as a nanny to our nephews, and her part time job remodeling homes have both been put on hold as she recovers. We have created this GoFundMe to help support her in covering her mounting medical expenses already exceeding $250k of which only partially covered by insurance and her essential daily expenses. Any contribution, no matter how small, would be deeply appreciated in helping to support her during this incredibly challenging time.
