Hi everyone,
I’m sharing something personal because life is forcing my hand a bit, and I need to ask for support.
On December 17th, I’m having a laparoscopic hysterectomy. It’s a necessary surgery—one I’ve put off for far too long—and while I’m relieved to finally be on the path to healing, the reality is… it’s expensive, and the recovery is long.
The surgery alone costs $5,000, and I’ll be out of work for a mandatory 6–8 weeks while I heal. As many of you know, I’m a self-employed holistic esthetician and wellness practitioner. I adore my work, but it comes with a simple truth: if I’m not working, I’m not earning. And I know December is not the season most people have “help Joann survive her major surgery” money lying around.
I know times are tight for everyone. The holidays are here. The economy is… not ideal. But I also know many of you care about me, and I’m learning that it’s okay to ask for help. And I don’t take asking for help lightly. I’m used to being the one holding the space, offering care, and tending to others. But right now, I’m the one who needs a little tending.
Your support will help me:
- Cover the surgery cost
- Stay afloat with basic living expenses while I’m unable to work
- Focus on healing instead of financial stress
Anything helps—truly. Whether it’s $5, sharing the link, or just sending healing energy my way. Anything truly helps, and I mean that. I’m deeply grateful for whatever form of support feels right for you.
Thank you for reading, for caring, and for being part of my life and community. This next chapter is one of healing, slowing down, and rebuilding—and your support helps me get there with a little more ease
With gratitude
Joann
