My mother, Joann Medlin, is in an Assisted Living facility in Sweetwater, TN. Everything she receives from social security and my father's military retirement goes to the facility as rent payment. There is a requirement at the facility to have her medicine put in "pill packs" for easy dispensing. The pharmacy that fills her medicine charges for putting her medicine into pill packs, but we didn't know this. Because if she gets the medicine at the local pharmacy, there is no charge. We were contacted on Friday that mom's medicine co-pays were due (for 8 months), totaling over $900. They will not fill any more medicine until the co-pays are caught up. We have set up auto-billing now for future co-pays. Unfortunately, we don't have an extra $900 to pay the past co-pays. If you are willing to help or can help, we would be truly grateful.
