Calling to our Spartan family for some help for our one and only, Joanie Williams! I bet if you're reading this Joanie has probably greeted you with a smile, called you out by name to say hello, and helped you whenever you needed it! She goes out of her way to be friendly to anyone and everyone! For many, including myself, Joanie was the first welcoming face when coming through the doors of SHS! Joanie recently earned her 25 year badge from the district! She is a dedicated employee at Sumner High School and served hundreds of students over her years!
Joanie was recently in a car accident. The other driver pulled out into the side of Joanie's car so hard it knocked her front tire up by the engine of her car. Her forest green Toyota Camry was her favorite car, and was unfortunately deemed totaled by her insurance. Joanie is devastated about her car. She now has flashbacks about the accident which has affected her confidence in driving herself.
About a month ago Joanie used some of her tax return money to fix up her Camry. She spent over $2,500 to fix it up. After the accident insurance estimated to give Joanie $3,000 after deciding her car was totaled. One day later they decided with the high miles and age of her car the best they could give her was $1,300. With Joanie retiring after next year, she doesn’t have a lot of extra funds to put towards a newer car that will last her for many years to come.
Joanie is not only a fabulous co-worker, but incredible friend to all of us. I’m asking you to please consider helping Joanie in a really tough time!
