In January of this year my dear mother went to the ER with abdominal pain and was informed that they found a mass and it needed to be removed. She prepared herself for a total hysterectomy and the removal of the mass only to be put under and brought back to hear the devastating news that they could not perform the surgery because they discovered she had stage 3 ovarian cancer. Since then she has been going to NYC every three weeks, sometimes more, where she receives great care and and chemotherapy treatments. This battle has not been easy but she continues to fight and remain her positive and powerful self! In the next few weeks she will be undergoing major surgery. This surgery will require a long recovery time and more traveling. During this time she will not be able to work and will need my father to care for her. This experience has been intense and anybody that has been through this or knows someone who has been through it knows it is very, very hard on the body and the spirit. Along with all this, is the burden of worrying about finances. Nobody should have to fret about money when they are fighting for their life. I have created this account in hopes that together we can help ease this burden and allow my mom to focus on the next battle ahead. Any contribution will be a help and greatly appreciated.
