My name is Lisa and I have lived near Raleigh, NC for 20+ years now. September 27th and 28th brought hurricane Helene to the US and caused major destruction and devastation to several states, and especially to the mountains in Western North Carolina.
My Aunt Joan and Uncle Dennis unfortunately had incredible damage to their home in Clyde, NC after it was flooded to the roofline because of this storm. So much damage that they will not be able to move back into it. This home has held so many memories for 35 years for my Aunt and Uncle, myself and my family and so many other family/friends who have always felt so welcome to come for a visit with them in the mountains.
I am so thankful they are alive and safe! They currently have a temporary safe place to stay but will need to find a permanent new home to move to.
I am starting this fundraiser for them so that they might be able to get furniture, appliances, clothing etc... for when they can move to a new home. It would be amazing if they would have such generosity to help pay a deposit on a new place!
My Aunt would never set up something like this for herself as she is the one who is ALWAYS reaching out to help others. My Aunt and Uncle are one of the kindest people I know! I want to do this for them to help them with such a big restart after so many years of living in their home. Thank you for any contribution you are willing to offer to them!
