Help Jo Attend the Music Biz Conference in Atlanta

Hello friends and family!

This is an awkward ask, but if you have $5–$10 dollars to donate to help a broke twenty-something-year-old (that’s me) pay the registration fee for the upcoming four-day 2025 Music Business Association networking event in Atlanta, Georgia (Music Biz 2025), it would be SO appreciated!

This annual conference is one of the biggest music networking events in the country. Anyone who is close to me knows that music (and supporting musicians) is my biggest passion in life. When I was recently laid off from my role as Event Manager at Live Bash, an event space and production venue in Chicago that hosts various musicians, comedians, podcasters, etc, I decided that it was time for me to pursue my dream career of working in artist management. (I'm currently looking for day-to-day manager, digital marketing, and/or promotions roles at various agencies if anyone has connections!)

After years of working in different management, digital marketing, production, and promotions roles at various Chicago venues, companies, and collectives, I feel that I have a well-rounded resume to pursue this dream now. However, it is nearly impossible to get even a first interview at some of the companies that I am applying to without a direct connection.

I know that meeting people face-to-face from the companies that I’d like to work for (800 companies will be at this conference), making connections on LinkedIn, and going to workshops and panels to learn more about the industry would be an invaluable experience. However, the barrier to entry is large with the non-member ticket being $1,500 dollars. I can afford a round trip flight and hotel, but with the ticket price it would be too much for me without help. Unfortunately, I missed the window to apply for a scholarship, so options are limited.
