Hi everyone,
I’m reaching out with a heart full of gratitude and hope. This past week, my beloved 14-year-old dog, Jmo, had to undergo an emergency surgery for gastric dilation volvulus (GDV) a life-threatening condition where his stomach flipped and filled his abdomen with gas.
We were incredibly lucky to notice the signs right away and rushed him to the emergency vet. The team acted quickly, performing a complex surgery that also required removing his spleen. He was monitored closely for 24 hours, and I was finally able to visit him the next day, though there were a few scary, unexpected complications along the way.
Thankfully, on Friday, our sweet boy came home. He’s now resting beside me with what feels like an entire pharmacy of medications, and we’re taking things one step at a time.
This has been an emotional and overwhelming experience and also a deeply humbling one. I’ve gone back and forth about creating this fundraiser, but I know how much Jmo means to so many of you. I also know how generous and caring this community has always been.
This surgery was a major, unplanned expense, and in a time that’s already financially challenging for many. If you’re in a position to contribute anything at all, it would mean the world to us. And if you’re not, just keeping us in your thoughts is more than enough.
Thank you for loving Jmo and for supporting us during this fragile time.
With so much love and gratitude,
Courtney & Jmo
