My name is Jaide, and I’m reaching out on behalf of my little brother, JJ, who is 19 years old and has spent the past year fighting brain cancer.
At 18 years old, JJ was diagnosed with an inoperable brainstem tumor. We learned that only 2% of patients with his type of tumor have it located where his is.
Following a craniotomy for a biopsy, JJ experienced serious complications that led to five surgeries in just five months. He has since undergone two shunt surgeries, with a third scheduled for January 2027. Today, he lives with a shunt that drains into his heart.
JJ is currently undergoing targeted therapy in hopes of putting his tumor into dormancy or potentially shrinking it. Between the side effects of treatment, ongoing complications, and appointments with 10 different specialists, this past year has been filled with challenges most people could never imagine.
Yet through everything, his strength and resilience have been nothing short of incredible.
JJ hasn’t stopped looking toward his future.
He is currently enrolled in school and determined to continue his education. Unfortunately, the challenges of his condition and treatment have made it incredibly difficult for him to work. Meanwhile, our family continues to carry the financial burden of his ongoing medical care.
That’s why I’m starting this GoFundMe.
Every donation will go toward helping JJ cover his educational expenses, allowing him to continue pursuing his goals while our family focuses on supporting his medical needs.
There are so many things this past year has taken from JJ. His time, his independence, and experiences that most young adults get to enjoy without a second thought.
His future should not have to be one of them.
Whether you’re able to donate, share this page, or simply keep JJ in your thoughts, please know how deeply grateful we are.
Thank you for supporting my little brother and helping us give him the opportunity to keep moving forward.
He’s already fought so hard for his health. I just want to help him keep fighting for his future. ❤️
With love and gratitude,
Jaide & Family
