I recently became a pet parent of two kittens, Jinx and Tinkerbell. They came to me pretty sickly, and they had their first vet appointment last week to get the medicine they needed, which set me back more than I expected, but nothing I wasn’t willing to do for them.

Unexpectedly, on Friday morning, Jinx fell from my chair and broke her leg. I took her to the emergency vet where I spent $1200 to get her treated. They said surgery would be the best option; however, I just don’t have a spare $5000 laying around, so I opted out.

In order for them to do routine check-ups on her cast, they need me to do a $300 consult, plus more meds, plus however much it’d be to go in weekly.

I’m at a loss. I’m already in debt with the $1200, and I don’t have much left over from paychecks to be secure. This has been very stressful both financially and emotionally.
