Help Jing Fong Restaurant Build a Patio

Hi! My name is Claudia and I manage all things Marketing and PR with Jing Fong Restaurant located in the heart of Chinatown. I am specifically talking about the Chinatown flag ship location on this Go Fund Me page. They have 800 seats and 25,000 square footage of space. Talk about social distancing, this place nails it perfectly. Ever since the pandemic started, the restaurant has been having a very tough time. Not only did they furloughed 150+ employees, but they were forced to create a patio, which they never had. Luckily, they  had a branded tent from a previous event last year. They were super grateful for their neighbors as they donated tables and chairs to help them get through the tough time. 

Fast forward, winter. The tent is not holding up well, 3 of the legs snapped because of the high winds during one storm this fall. One of the hood of the tent has a hole from wear and tear, the planters' legs snapped due to moving too much, and the thin walls are started to tear as well now. Everything is breaking. They had applied for a Grubhub Winterize Grant and unfortunately, denied because there were "too many restaurants applying". 

NYC Department of Building had just paid a visit and told Jing Fong Restaurant that they have 2 weeks to fix up everything or else, they have to remove the patio. Currently, the outdoor patio is the ONLY way customers are able to sit down and enjoy a steamer or two of dumplings, noodles, baos, rice, and/or anything else.  The issue is, Jing Fong has $0.00 funds for this right now. Building a patio requires approximately $ 5-8k, which they do not have right now. All the funds went to paying for utilities, purchasing invoices, and staffing employees. It is very expensive running at 25k square feet restaurant. Not only that, but Dim Sum is very labor intensive, as each dumpling requires a chef to pinch, squeeze, and wrap. NOTHING is made with a machine, which they pride on.

With the donations that you are making, Jing Fong will be able to build out a patio with heated lamps. Although we will not be able to build a 800 seat outdoor patio, any extra patio seats will help right now. Not only that, they just want their customers to be able to enjoy their authentic cantonese food. 100% of the donations will be going to the restaurant, and 100% of it will be going towards the patio. With any extra remaining funds, I will donate to another restaurant in Chinatown going through the same thing as Jing Fong. Thank you so much for taking your time in reading this!
