My name is Jina, and I’m a senior at Oakwood University. I was set to graduate in May 2025, but my mother—my biggest supporter and best friend—passed away unexpectedly. Her loss has been devastating, and I wasn’t able to finish the semester.

Earlier this year, when I was struggling to clear my school balance, my mom took out a loan and made me promise that no matter what, I would finish school. I didn’t realize at the time, but she knew deep down she might not live to see me walk the stage—the moment she had always dreamed of.

Now that she’s gone, I want to honor that promise I made to her. I’m raising funds to help cover my tuition and remaining fees so I can complete my degree and walk the stage in her memory.
