Help Jimmy Groszek Walk Again and Get Home
Donation protected
James, or you may know him as Jimmy, has touched many lives over the last 59 years. I have heard about so many people he has met through his love of music either playing or teaching the guitar. Or maybe it was his love of sports or maybe it was any thing to do with Chicago. Whatever way it was, you made a friend for life.
I write to you on this go fund me page because James has had his second stroke on July 2nd, 2019. Unlike the first one in 2003, he has been left paralyzed on his left side. He can not walk at all and needs assistance in most activities of daily living.
James has been in a rehab facility for 3 weeks now and is making very slow progress. The therapists say he is a GREAT student and is working very hard but little if any movement. There are a total of 7 stages before normal function returns, if it is to return. That is A LOT more therapy.
Jimmy hopes to be able to return to his second story apartment however that depends. In order for him to go home he must be able to use the 15 stairs heading up to his apartment. Currently insurance is paying for less than one hour of rehab per day and each week they assess if he is making progress and then choose to continue his rehab stay or send him home. The physical therapist says the first 3 months are the most critical for success.
I am asking for funds for Jimmy to get him additional rehab during his stay at the facility and when he is sent home.
I ask you for any amount of donation because any amount will help Jimmy get the help he deserves. Please help me spread the word by posting this to your social media account.
