Jimmy, Collette’s 12-year-old cat, has always been the heart of her home. With his fluffy fur, goofy antics, and loving personality, he’s brought joy not just to Collette, but to her grandson, her students, and her coworkers. Over the past few months, Jimmy’s health took a sudden turn—he lost a significant amount of weight, dropping from 24 lbs to 14 lbs, though his fluffiness made it hard to notice at first. Only recently did he stop eating, and after an urgent exploratory surgery, a tumor was discovered in his intestinal cavity. Now, Collette and Jimmy are waiting on test results to determine the best course of treatment.

Collette has already spent a great deal on vet bills and surgery, doing everything she can to give Jimmy the best chance. She lives alone with her two cats, Jimmy and Pan, and has always been the first to help others with their animals or offer advice. Now, she’s facing unexpected costs and uncertainty, and she’s reached out to veterinary and animal charities for help, but their resources are stretched thin.
