An incidental finding of what we thought was kidney cancer that spread to the liver, turned out to be much, much worse. My dad, the strongest man I know, the most selfless, loving, strong-willed and outspoken man there is, MY DAD, was diagnosed with a very rare and aggressive cancer, 3 different cancers at that. Cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer) combined with Hepatocellular Carcinoma (liver cancer) AND Renal Cell Carcinoma (kidney cancer).
For the last 24 years, my dad has held annual golf outings to support numerous charities and people in need. As much as it pains me to say, now he is in need, WE are in need. My Uncle is organizing a benefit in NJ for local friends and family and we plan to have something here in FL as well in the coming months. While nothing is expected, any and all support is more than appreciated.
To say it’s been a rough couple of months is an understatement. We have a very long road ahead of us, and we plan to fight like hell. We all know how stubborn the old man can be, and pops didn’t raise no quitters. So, in true Rafter fashion, we’re going to give cancer a run for it’s money!
