Help Jimmy Pay His Human Bills
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Jimmy, and I’ve been rescuing abandoned pet ducks since 2020. What started as a small effort to help has turned into a full-time commitment, with 113 rescued waterfowl now depending on me. Over the years, I leased land, took on multiple jobs, and even relied on social media sponsorships, but after losing my job during COVID, my savings quickly dwindled.
Last year, I had to sell my truck to cover expenses, and despite trying to make the best of it by commuting by bus, it’s no longer sustainable. With a 4-hour round-trip commute, I can’t continue balancing evening jobs and caring for the birds.
I’ve recently transitioned the rescue into a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, hoping to secure grants to help with costs and eventually provide myself a small salary. I’m currently enrolled in a grant-writing workshop and applying for funding, but without immediate support, I’m struggling to meet my basic living expenses.
While the ducks are well-cared-for, I’m facing a personal financial crisis. I’m hoping to raise enough to cover my living expenses through February while I continue working on grants and securing a more stable situation for myself.
If I can't cover this, it will be fine. I'll figure something out. This is not related to if the birds will receive care; they will be fine regardless.
If you can donate or know someone who might be willing to help, I’d be incredibly grateful. If this isn’t the right time for you to contribute, I completely understand. Either way, I appreciate you taking the time to read my story.
Here’s a breakdown of what I need to cover:
Rent: $900
Phone/Internet (for business purposes): $140
Bus Pass: $80
Electric: $100
Dog Food: $50
Emergency Uber: $100
Groceries: $100
Any funds raised beyond my bills will go toward buying a car to reduce my commute, allowing me to find a job and resume our educational events.
Thank you for your support!
Best,
Jimmy
