It’s time to STEP UP for our brother Jimmy Hayward and his family. He’s in the fight of his life and needs our help!
Our brother, Jimmy Hayward is one of the kindest, most generous and supportive people we have the honor to call family. He has dedicated his life to making awesome movies, teaching, mentoring and pulling through for anybody who’s needed him. Now, his wife Dasha and kids Mila (3 years) and Grayden (5 months) need help.
Jimmy was diagnosed with a very rare and life threatening skin Cancer (squamous cel carcinoma) that grew tumors into the bones of his skull. https://www.health.harvard.edu/cancer/squamous-cell-carcinoma-overview
After struggling for over a year to find the answers, the diagnosis came the same week his wife gave birth to their beautiful son. Now Dasha takes care of everything, with Jimmy added to her list.
With the Pandemic still raging, business at a standstill, and a toddler, a newborn and a life threatening / life altering major cancer diagnosis, the Haywards had no choice but to elect to a full cancer program right away to save Jimmy’s life. He’s had countless procedures, three major surgeries to remove the tumors and amputate part of his cheek, nose and bones in his face. Now in the hospital Monday through Friday every week for heavy radiation, the Hayward’s are fighting for every inch and are overwhelmed with costs to keep going, all while the kids cope with their father having a large open hole in his face, who can’t get out of bed to play with them.
Jimmy is the sole earner in the family. A filmmaker and an animator of such films as Horton Hears a Who!, Toy Story, and Monsters Inc to name a few, Jimmy has produced music videos and worked with bands such as OFF!, Tool and Mastodon. For the better part of a year Jimmy has been unable to work to support his family, let alone chip away at the mountain they need to overcome. This all falls directly on the heels of the pandemic and the loss of their recording studio.
After months and months of punishing medical treatment and the loss of his basic appearance, Jimmy is not out of the woods yet. He’ll need five to seven surgeries to rebuild his face as well as follow up procedures for his tear ducts, eyes and possible Lymphoma complications. Jimmy literally has a hole in the middle of his face, where they went in to remove the bone and affected tissue.
We don't usually use our platform for personal requests or ask for help, but at this time, we NEED your help. We are seeking to raise as much money as possible to help cover their expenses. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for any contribution, whether it be monetary or a simple share of the story.
