Help Jimmy get a Leg Up in Life!

In early January, thanks to the vigilance and advocacy by one of our young neighbors, our community rallied around an elderly and emaciated dog who was left out in freezing temperatures with no food or water. Green Street Rescue was able to obtain an owner surrender and rescue him. We placed him into a loving foster home and his foster mom renamed him Jimmy to help cleanse his past and help him start anew.
The poor skeletal pup quickly filled out with frequent nutritious meals and proper veterinary care and gained 4 pounds in less than a week! He was treated for an ear infection and got a proper groom at Groomingdales in Wyndmoor. He has quickly learned going outside also means coming back in and can’t get enough of cuddling with another elderly dog there. He has been thriving in his foster home! He is total sweetheart and super easygoing with everyone he meets!
Unfortunately, Jimmy is still not too steady on his paws and took a tumble down some stairs today. He fractured his elbow in the tumble and is scheduled for an emergency lateral humeral condylar fracture repair tomorrow at Blue Pearl. The surgery is not a routine procedure and must be done by an orthopedic surgeon so he is in the right place to get it done and now just needs to feel your support!
As you may understand already, this cost is a huge blow to Green Street Rescue. We are asking for your help in paying for his surgery so that he can get back on the road to finally living his best life! Thanks to all who helped us with his initial vet cost! We definitely can’t help care for rescues without your support! We truly appreciate it!
