Help Jimmy Deuchar Overcome Health Challenges

Hello my name is Jason Harry. I am raising funds for my Uncle, Jimmy Deuchar. He's had a rough go the last couple months medically and it has forced him to stop working. This is his story in his own words:

40+ years ago I was shot in my right leg, resulting in other health issues. For 35 years, I have been working with a shorter right leg, bad circulation and partial paralysis.

I believe no one should pay my bills, but me, whether it’s medical or day-to-day expenses. Work was my life! I enjoyed working at The Pit Stop, even though after eight hours my legs were swollen and my back was causing me to be in excruciating pain. After having a CT scan, doctors found I had a compression fracture in my lower back with spurs up and down my spine which has prevented me from standing or sitting for extended lengths of time. It’s been very painful walking just a few steps in the last couple months.

I have also been living with an enlarged heart for years. After having an ECG last fall it showed that I have advanced AFIB. Doctors were then worried about heart failure or stroke.

In April, after an ablation on my heart, I spent four days in ICU at Rapid City Monument Health Heart and Vascular Institute.

Two weeks later I went into cardiac arrest and was Medevac’d by plane to Rapid City Monument Health Heart and Vascular Institute to spend 5 days in emergency ICU.

At home, I am healing from a few broken ribs and missing a lot of sleep. I am monitored by a heart monitor that was placed underneath my skin above my heart.
